FARGO—The Country Hearth Bread store at 2301 University Drive S. in Fargo is closing as of today.

The store was operated by Pan-O-Gold Baking Co., which has its headquarters in St. Cloud, Minn., and which still has a bakery in north Fargo.

Country Hearth Bread remains available in many area grocery stores.

A Pan-O-Gold spokesman confirmed the South University Drive store was closing but declined further comment.

Sue Meyers, who has been with Country Hearth Bread for about 15 years, said she and another employee at the University Drive store will be out of jobs.

She said the bread store moved to the University Drive location about a decade ago and prior to that it was located in north Moorhead.

Meyers said she was informed about two weeks ago that the store was closing.
