FARGO—West Acres Shopping Center will soon lose a third clothing store in recent weeks.

An employee who answered the phone at New York & Co. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, confirmed that the women's clothing store will close Jan. 28. She wasn't sure how long the store has been in the mall.

The employee, who declined to identify herself, said it was a corporate decision by the chain, and she wasn't told the reason for this closure.

New York & Co. was founded in 1918 and is now known for selling work apparel and accessories for women through its retail and outlet stores as well as its website.

Two other West Acres clothing stores, Aeropostale and The Limited, closed in late December as the chains shuttered locations around the country. The mall's Sears store, an anchor there for nearly 45 years, will also shut down early this year.
