FARGO—A downtown restaurant has reopened after a quick concept change.

Twist opened Monday, Jan. 9, in the former Sazerac Alley space, 220 Broadway.

Dan Hurder, president and CEO of ownership group Great Plains Hospitality, described the new eatery's concept as "global fusion, incorporating a variety of flavors and concepts found throughout the world, blended together to create our own unique 'twist' on those flavors and creations."

Sazerac Alley, a New Orleans-inspired Cajun eatery that opened last spring after a renovation and revamp of the former Monte's Downtown restaurant, closed briefly after regular business on Saturday, Dec. 31, to prepare for the conversion to Twist.

Twist is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. The restaurant's phone number is (701) 526-0149.

In addition to the menu's focus on small plates and "global fusion" foods, Hurder said Twist will aim for unique "twists" in its cocktail program. The restaurant also plans several promotions throughout the week, such as Meatless Monday, a Wednesday night wine special, Thursday night designer bag bingo and daily late night specials.
