Fargo's Paradise Donuts changes name after breaking away from franchise

Sweet Rings Donuts & Deli / Special to The Forum

FARGO—A Fargo doughnut shop has a new name after breaking away from its franchise.

Paradise Donuts and Deli, 3001 13th Ave. S., announced last week in a Facebook post that it is now operating on its own with new name Sweet Rings Donuts & Deli.

The store opened in August 2014 as a franchisee of Paradise Donut Corp., which has Paradise Donuts locations across the U.S., primarily in the South and Midwest.

Sweet Rings is owned by Al Farahmand. In a March 9 post to the store's Facebook page, the business announced it had decided to go out on its own.

"It is always good to have someone there to help you in the beginning, so for that we are thankful to Paradise donuts, but we are excited for the next chapter," the post read.

The announcement said the store has always been locally owned and operated. Sweet Rings didn't respond to a Facebook message and several phone calls earlier this week seeking comment.
