Boston's announces plans to open in former WF Applebee's
WEST FARGO—A former Applebee's restaurant here will soon be replaced by a Canadian restaurant chain's first of several locations planned for North Dakota.
The location of the forthcoming restaurant was announced Monday, May 1, in a news release from public relations firm Fishman PR. A representative said the restaurant is scheduled to open in July.
Boston's Restaurant & Sports Bar, which combines family friendly casual dining with a sports bar and specializes in gourmet pizza and pasta, announced March 1 that it would open its first North Dakota location this year somewhere in West Fargo.
The Canadian franchise's other restaurant concept, Boston's Pizza, opened in 2005 in Grand Forks and closed in 2008.
The March 1 announcement also said the chain was targeting other locations in Bismarck, Minot and the Fargo area for future development.
The North Dakota locations will be opened by operating partner Tyler Birkland, who owns a Boston's restaurant in Prince Albert, Canada, and two other franchise partners who operate 14 restaurants in Saskatchewan.
