Fargo Theatre event to examine healthy lifestyles

FARGO—A free event later this month will examine the role of the physician in helping the community adopt healthier lifestyles.

Dr. Neal Barnard, a musician, researcher and author in addition to being a physician, will lead the 7:30 p.m. event on Wednesday, July 19, to celebrate the opening of Prairie Roots Food Co-op, 1213 NP Ave. Doors at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, will open for the event at 6:30 p.m. with lobby displays and food samples.

The co-op opened to the public Wednesday, July 5.

Barnard's event, "Heart Beats, Drum Beats and Edible Beets," will include music, videos and discussions about medicine, music and food and how the three interact. Representatives of Prairie Roots will also discuss the history and mission of the co-op during the event.
