Casey's General Stores opens two new locations in Fargo

FARGO—A convenience store chain has reopened a gas station here along South University Drive after tearing down the old building and putting a new store and car wash on the site.

Casey's General Store opened its rebuilt store at 2701 S. University Drive on June 29. Sam James, director of finance for the chain based in Ankeny, Iowa, said the new store is 4,300 square feet.

Store Manager Chris Beedy said the work to rebuild the site, which was announced last summer, also included putting a new car wash on the property.

The South University Drive store will celebrate its grand opening Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, with prizes, food samples, free coffee, special discounts and more from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, according to Beedy.

James said Casey's also recently opened a new 4,300-square-foot store at 3202 43rd St. S. in Fargo. That store, which offers made-from-scratch pizza, sub sandwiches and other food products, opened June 8, he said.

Casey's acquired the Stop-n-Go chain in May 2014 and has since remodeled many of the former chain's stores in North Dakota and Minnesota. The company has more than 1,950 convenience stores in 15 states throughout the Midwest.
