Bell Bank to relocate its Fargo Southpointe branch to new building

FARGO—Bell Bank is getting ready to build a bigger branch with drive-thru service for its south Fargo customers.

The Fargo-based financial institution took out two building permits last month, one for $300,000 and the other for $1.75 million, for a new building at 2870 52nd Ave. S.

President and CEO Michael Solberg said construction is expected to start there in early August and wrap up by next May.

Once the new standalone building with about 6,000 square feet of space is done, Solberg said the staff of Bell Bank's current Fargo Southpointe location will relocate that branch there.

The move will more than double the space for Southpointe, which currently occupies a leased space connected to a Casey's General Store gas station at 3545 25th St. S. Solberg said the additional office space will allow the branch to add things it currently can't offer, including more investment and mortgage services.

He expects Bell Bank will hire more employees for the larger branch.

This relocation also will add a branch to a rapidly-growing corridor of south Fargo, offering more convenience for customers, he said.

"I can't underscore enough how important the drive-up component of it is, too," Solberg said. "We're excited to have a drive-up on the far south end of town."
He said Bell Bank's lease is expiring at its 25th Street South space, and it will vacate that building once the branch is moved over to its new location.
