North Dakota Autism Center debuts new programs

The Otto Bremer Trust recently awarded the North Dakota Autism Center in Moorhead a grant to support its AuSome Kids Day Program as well as a new program called an Autism Friendly Community.

Through the Autism Friendly Community project, the NDAC hopes to partner with local businesses and organizations to provide free training for their staff members. The training, which lasts about an hour, includes facts and characteristics of autism, a sensory overload activity and suggestions to be successful in comfortably supporting the individuals and their families. The goal is to provide comfort to families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities when visiting location businesses and organizations.

NHS earns Marriott designation

Fargo-based hospitality management company, National Hospitality Services, was recently named an approved management company by Marriott International for full, select and limited service hotels.

A detailed application process and evaluation was completed. In addition to human resources services, NHS provides sales and marketing and revenue management services for 25 full-service, extended stay and limited service hotels nationwide. They also manage two Marriott branded properties—Delta Hotels by Marriott in Fargo and the Fairfield Inn in Green Bay, Wis.

Pilates studio celebrating 10 year anniversary

Isaak Studios, a pilates studio offering athletic core development and high-speed treadmill training, is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.

The public is invited to attend an anniversary party from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, in the Dakota meeting room inside the Expressway Suites, 4303 17th Ave. S., Fargo. Prizes will be given away and trainers will be on hand to visit with the public.

Border States Electric acquires Kriz-Davis Co.

Border States Electric has reached an agreement to acquire Kriz-Davis Co., an electrical distributor headquartered in Grand Island, Neb.

Kriz-Davis has been in business for more than 70 years with nearly 250 employees throughout Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri.

BSE and Kris-Davis Co. are 100 percent employee-owned companies.

BSE supplies products and services to construction, industrial and utility customers. The company is ranked the seventh largest electrical distributor in North America by Electrical Wholesaling magazine. With the addition of Kriz-Davis Co., BSE will have approximately 2,500 employee-owners in 111 branches across 20 states.
