FARGO—Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza will open Thursday, Oct. 19., in the former King Leo's location at 1443 42nd St. S.

To celebrate the grand opening, the restaurant will offer free build-your-own artisanal pizzas from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, to those who follow Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.

This is the first North Dakota location for the fast-casual artisanal pizza concept. Blaze Pizza opened its first restaurant in Irvine, Calif., in 2012. Today, it operates over 215 restaurants in 35 states and Canada.

Founded by Elise and Rick Wetzel, co-founders of Wetzel’s Pretzels, the concept is backed by private equity firm Brentwood Associates and founding investors that include LeBron James, Maria Shriver, movie producer John Davis and Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner.

Each restaurant features an interactive open-kitchen format that allows guests to customize one of its signature pizzas or create their own, choosing from a wide selection of fresh, artisanal ingredients—all for around $8. The pizzas are then sent to a blazing hot open-flame oven where they're "fast-fire'd" and ready in just 180 seconds.
