New bridal boutique opening soon in downtown Fargo

Affairs by Brittany Inc. will open its Fargo bridal boutique Saturday, Nov. 25, at 303 Broadway. Special to The Forum

FARGO—A new bridal shop will open this month in downtown Fargo.

Affairs by Brittany Inc. will open a bridal boutique on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, at 303 Broadway N.

It's taking the place of two businesses that shared the space, Hardcore Ink Body Art Studio and Avanti Salon and Spa, which have been there since the fall of 2015. Those businesses recently announced they'd be moving to 123 Main Ave. in West Fargo in November.

Owner Brittany Zimmerman said the company's forthcoming Fargo store is actually the result of relocating one of her stores from Grand Forks.

Her company's store in Detroit Lakes, Minn., 808 Washington Ave., will remain open. But it will continue to operate as a full-service bridal store, where women can look at dresses on the floor and order one in their size and color, as well as a place where guys can get suits and rent tuxes.

That's a different business model than her forthcoming Fargo store, which will be an off-the-rack bridal boutique where women will choose from in-stock bridal gowns, party dresses and accessories rather than ordering custom products.

"They'll very much complement each other," she said about the different stores. "I also think that's how we'll fit in the Fargo market because there isn't a bridal store that operates with just the off-the-rack designer dresses for a little bit of a discount."

Zimmerman plans to have the store open Tuesdays through Saturdays for now, with other hours available by appointment. To keep up with news about Affairs by Brittany, visit
