MOORHEAD—A New York-style pizzeria has closed in Moorhead.

Spicy Pie, 935 37th Ave. S., was closed by Tuesday, Oct. 30. Calls to the Moorhead store were forwarded to the chain's south Fargo location where an employee who answered confirmed the Moorhead store was closed.

Spicy Pie officials didn't respond to several requests for more information this week.

The Moorhead store, located in the Azool Shopping Center anchored by a Hornbacher's grocery store, opened in 2015.

A sign in the door apologized to customers for the closed location and referred them to the four other Spicy Pies in the community, located at 322 Broadway N., 1414 12th Ave. N. and 2640 52nd Ave. S. in Fargo and 745 31st Ave. E. in West Fargo. The restaurant's signs were removed from the building by Wednesday, Oct. 31.

The Minot, N.D., based Spicy Pie also has locations in Minot and Grand Forks.
