Construction firm sets up branch office in CityScapes

McGough Construction is in the process of setting up an office in the CityScapes Plaza building in downtown Fargo, located at 630 1st Ave. N. Dave Olson / The Forum

Fargo - An empty storefront in the CityScapes Plaza building in downtown Fargo will soon be empty no more.

McGough, a construction company with headquarters in the Twin Cities, is setting up a branch office in Fargo, said Nate Wood, who will be heading up the office.

Wood described McGough, a family-owned company that has been in business more than 55 years, as a regional contractor that works across the Midwest.

He said the company has a history of projects in North Dakota and western Minnesota, including work with Essentia Health as well as the ethanol plant under construction in Spiritwood, N.D.

The company also has an upcoming project on the Concordia College campus, Wood said.

“We do projects in excess of $300 million, but we do a lot of smaller projects, too,” said Wood, who added that McGough has hired two people who will staff the Fargo branch, which he will be managing.

He said improvements are now being made to the space in CityScapes and the new McGough office is expected to open in March.
