FARGO—A first-of-its-kind store for North Dakota is getting ready to move to a bigger location.

Helping Hands LLC recently closed its store in West Fargo, 423 Christianson Drive, that opened April 1. The 2,000-square-foot store was notable for being the first in the state to sell items purchased through home liquidation sales.

Founder and Owner Kathleen Siewert expects to reopen in a new north Fargo location, 702 28th Ave. N., on either Oct. 17 or Oct. 24.

The move will give the store about 4,000 square feet of space, double what it had in West Fargo, while also relocating to a more easily accessible area with better parking, according to Siewert.

She founded Helping Hands in 2009 to hold estate sales. Over the years, the business added several other services, including home liquidation purchases and help with relocating people.

Siewert said her new spot, which is behind the Northport Shopping Center and just across from Red River Lanes bowling alley, also gives her a chance to expand the store's hours that were limited in West Fargo. She said the shop will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
