FMHRA to hold a lunch session

The Fargo Moorhead Human Resource Association will host a lunch session from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Delta Hotel by Marriott.

This session, "How to be Effective at Performance Appraisals," will discuss the importance and benefits of conducting appraisals, prepare and conduct performance interviews. The session will be presented by Rena Stenseth.

NDSU lecture to address freedom of expression

North Dakota State University will host a free lecture and panel discussion examining freedom of expression.

The lecture, "Does Free Expression Always Make Us Smarter and Stronger?," will be held from at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Atrium Room at the NDSU Alumni Center.

Dr. Jeff Snyder, an assistant professor in the department of educational studies at Carleton College will deliver the keynote speech. Panelists will include William Fleck, Dr. Kara Gravley-Stack, Bradley Foster and moderator Dr. Dennis R. Cooley.

Prairie Public Broadcasting to host sweater drive

Prairie Public Broadcasting and Gate City Bank are hosting the Mister Rogers' neighborhood sweater drive now through Friday, Dec. 15.

For the sixth year in a row, Gate City Bank locations across the region will accept new and gently used sweaters for children and adults. All donations will be distributed to local families in need.
