Gierszewski hired by ND Dept. of Commerce

The North Dakota Department of Commerce has hired Deanna Gierszewski as an accounting and assistant credit analyst for the North Dakota Development Fund.

She previously worked for the North Dakota Department of Human Services in their child support central office. Gierszewski graduated from University of Mary with a degree in business administration.

The North Dakota Development Fund coordinates efforts between all sources of financing, working with the business and the community.

Sig Olson & Sons promotes Krueger

Jason Krueger has been promoted to general manager at Sig Olson & Sons Plastering, Inc.

Krueger has worked at the company for over 20 years, starting as a laborer in May 1997. He began training as an apprentice plasterer in 2002 and became a journeyman plasterer in 2006. He was promoted to foreman in January 2010.

He previously worked as an auto technician and tow truck driver in the Fargo-Moorhead area. He graduated from Moorhead High School, attended MState in Moorhead and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Office Sign Company hires four

Office Sign Company in Fargo has hired four employees.

Daniel Edwards has joined as a vinyl specialist and previously worked in the graphics department at Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Christopher Johnson has joined as an engraving specialist. He has a bachelor's degree in pre-professional studio art.

Jaden Cote has joined as a sublimation specialist and has an associate's degree in photography from Dakota College.

Rylee Wznick has joined as a marketing assistant and has a degree in strategic communication from North Dakota State University.

Discovery Benefits hires seven, promotes three

Discovery Benefits has hired seven employees and promoted three employees.

Alex Elizarraga, Donte McGraw, Jessica Smith, Katelyn Larson and Kelsey Day have joined as participant services specialists. Jennifer Kohler and Sarah Monson have joined as solution specialists.

Jessica Shawn was promoted to vice president of human resources. She started at Discovery Benefits in 2012 and most recently was human resources director. Shawn earned her master's degree in management with concentrations in organizational development and human resources from the College of St. Scholastica.

Kelsey Fellows was promoted to manager of strategic partnerships. She started at Discovery Benefits in May as a solutions manager for strategic partnerships. Fellows earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.

Daniel Gunderson was promoted to partner solutions manager. He started at Discovery Benefits in 2016 as a benefits account manager and most recently worked as a solution specialist for benefit services. Gunderson earned his bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University.

Choice Financial adds board member

Dr. Susan Mathison has joined the board of directors at Choice Financial, bringing the bank's total board membership to 11 directors.

Mathison is a triple-board certified physician and the founder of Catalyst Medical Center in Fargo. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Dakota Medical Foundation, Impact Foundation, Plains Art Museum, Ronald McDonald House, United Way and the United Way Women's Leadership Council.

She graduated from Stanford and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, followed by seven years of specialty training at the University of Washington-Seattle.

Bodyworks Physical Therapy hires one

Savannah McDaniel has joined Bodyworks Physical Therapy and Bliss Massage Therapy as a licensed massage therapist.

McDaniel earned her associate's degree in massage therapy from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minn.

Labor Masters hires one

Labor Masters of Fargo has hired Ian Beaton as executive of sales and marketing.

Beaton has six years of sales and marketing experience. He serves on the volunteer fire department and is an acting city council member in Hope, N.D.

BlackRidgeMORTGAGE hires two

Jeremy Helgoe and Sarah Parkhouse have joined BlackRidgeMORTGAGE as mortgage loan originators in the Fargo area.

Helgoe has been in the mortgage industry for more than a decade, most recently with First International Bank & Trust. He has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from North Dakota State University.

Parkhouse has worked in the industry for nine years, most recently at Gate City Bank. She has a bachelor's degree in finance from NDSU.

FMWF Chamber hires two

The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber has hired Alyssa Ralston as professional development coordinator and Jasmine Powell-Calhoun as membership outreach coordinator.

Ralston will oversee The Chamber's Young Professionals Network and Leadership programs. She has a bachelor's degree in public relations and advertising from North Dakota State University, and is currently pursuing a master's in educational leadership. Most recently, she was a TRIO McNair Scholars Program graduate assistant at NDSU.

Powell-Calhoun will provide and promote awareness of The Chamber's programs, events and benefits and assist in retaining and recruiting members. She earned her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from NDSU. She previously worked in the marketing department at Costco.
