FARGO—A longtime downtown bar is saying goodbye to the community after one last hurrah this weekend.

The Nestor Tavern, 1001 NP Ave., will hold its "The Last, Last Call...." event beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Activities include a potluck dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by live music starting at 7 p.m. featuring members of Rev's, Sky Bodeen, Old Dog New Trick and other groups.

The Facebook event says the bar will close for good at the end of November, bringing to an end the establishment's more than 100-year history, including 47 years at its current location.

The Forum previously reported that owner Doug DeMinck is selling his liquor license to Tailgators Sports Cafe, 1322 Main Ave. His lease on the Nestor building ends at the end of the year.

The property was purchased by Kilbourne Group in October 2015 from the estate of the previous owner. The Nestor got its start around 1913 as the Nestor Cigar Store, originally operating at 614 1st Ave. N. in downtown Fargo. It moved to its current location in 1970.
