Fargo's Bison Turf serving food again--as pop-up business in downtown restaurant
FARGO—Get ready for some nostalgic flavors in the next pop-up event at a downtown restaurant.
Twist, 220 Broadway N., announced earlier this week that it will host some of the staff of the old Bison Turf bar and grill at its downtown eatery in January.
The restaurant unveiled its new Food Truck Residency Program last month, offering a kitchen and place to operate for Fargo hot dog vendor The Dog Father during three Sundays in December.
Its second pop-up event will feature Kitchen Manager Lisa Roscoe and some of the bartenders from The Bison Turf serving up food and drinks 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 14, 21 and 28.
That bar and grill, a hangout spot near the North Dakota State University campus at 1211 N. University Drive, has been closed since sustaining major fire damage in July 2016. Owner Pete Sabo told The Forum late last month that the lengthy reconstruction project was almost complete.
In a written statement, Roscoe said she pitched the idea of a Turf pop-up at Twist.
"I know that rebuilding has been underway for a while now, and our loyal customers will be back in the building eventually, but this seemed like a fun way for us to reconnect with some of those regulars, get back together with the old crew and just do something fun and different for the Fargo community," she wrote.
