Christkindlmarkt to bring holiday cheer to downtown Fargo

Folkways / Special to The Forum

FARGO—A German-inspired holiday tradition will be held in downtown Fargo for the first time next week.

Community building organization Folkways announced earlier this month that it will host Christkindlmarkt beginning Thursday, Nov. 30, through Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Stone Building, 613 1st Ave. N., which was most recently Avalon Events Center.

Festivities will include a daily "outdoor winter wonderland," a second floor beer hall from Front Street Taproom with live music each evening, gifts and decor for sale in the market hall, performances and activities for kids and families.

Treats, food and mulled wine will also be available.

Christkindlmarkt will kick off 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and continue 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, with Saturday's events including activities for kids from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
