Fargo - Pavement near the Green Mill restaurant on 13th Avenue South is being torn up for construction on a new office building.

The shell structure on the corner of 13th Avenue and 34th Street will be two stories tall and just over 17,000 square feet, said Clark Hagen, project manager for Hammers Construction.

The building could have four to eight tenants, Hagen said, noting it could house retail or corporate office space.

There are no tenants secured for the space, Hagen said, though there is one potential tenant.

The building is a $1.7 million project, according to a building permit listing from the city.

It will have a brick façade, and plans show a drive-thru lane, Hagen said.

The project is expected to be completed in early November.

The corner previously housed a gas station, Hagen said, and that building’s foundations need to be removed.

Parking for the neighboring Green Mill restaurant has shifted to the south. The restaurant has posted on its sign that it is not under construction and is open for business.
