Comstock House plans several events in September

MOORHEAD — September is a busy month for the Comstock House, 506 Eighth St. S., Moorhead, with plenty of public events on the schedule.

Comstock House will kick off its Concerts in the Parlor series at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, with a performance by concert pianist Brayden Drevlow. A current student at Concordia College, Drevlow has received a touring grant from the Minnesota Arts Council that has allowed him to play in such places as the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the White House and more.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, Comstock House will welcome North Dakota State University graduate student Chelsea Olmstead to kick off its Drache Lectures series. Olmsted will share her research on Clay County's agricultural history using a collection of glass plate negatives.

Following these programs, guests are welcome to enjoy refreshments provided by Rustica Eatery and Tavern while they explore one of Moorhead's most historic homes.

The Comstock House also will host three calligraphy classes taught by local artist and calligrapher Anne Kaese beginning at 10 a.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
