Salvation Army starts fall coat collection
FARGO — The Salvation Army has kicked off its fall coat collection drive that gathers warm winter gear for families and people in the community.
The coat collection began Friday, Sept. 7, and will continue through Monday, Sept. 17. Participants can donate all sizes of used coats and winter gear at their nearest Hornbacher's grocery store, with the most needed items including children sizes 6-12 coats, snow pants, boots and gloves.
The Salvation Army gave out almost 1,800 coats and 2,300 warm winter accessories last year.
In addition to new or gently used winter gear, monetary donations can be used to purchase winter gear by sending donations to The Salvation Army, 304 Roberts St., Fargo, ND 58102 with "Coats for Kids" in the memo.
