Arde Rutter, 92, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, August 15, 2014, in her home at Riverpointe in Moorhead.

Mary Ardamese Reilly was born September 4, 1921, the daughter of William and Ellen Reilly, in Minneapolis, MN. She was raised in the Grand Forks, ND, area and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1939. In 1941 she moved to Spokane, WA, and then to Seattle, WA, to help in the war efforts by working in the shipyards.

On April 20, 1944, she was united in marriage to George S. Rutter in Michigan, ND. They made their home in Fargo, ND, until moving to Moorhead in 1955, where Arde was a full-time mother, along with helping manage George's architectural practice. She was an avid volunteer with her church and the hospital auxiliary "Pink Ladies" being her main focus. Arde later began working outside the home as an office assistant for Team Electronics.

In 1981, she and George, moved to Macon, GA, where Arde was a volunteer for the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival and active the Newcomers Club. She enjoyed endless hours with one of favorite pastimes, playing Bridge.

Arde was a caring, giving, loving, hard-working wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be fondly remembrance by those who had the privilege to know her.

She is survived by her children, Marcia (Larry) Ramthun, Eagan, MN, Bradley (Ginny) Rutter and Jayne (George) Rutter-Kane, both Moorhead, and Mary (Tim) Nugent, Dilworth, MN; grandchildren, Bryce (Stephanie) Ramthun, Bloomington, MN, Jamie (Derrick) Johnson, Dilworth, and Jonathan Rutter, Moorhead; great-grandchildren, Emma Ramthun, Andrew Worm, Rylie and Neelie Johnson; brother, Jim (Florence) Reilly, Missoula, MT; sister-in-law, Lillian Trapp, Spokane; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews who loved their "Antie Arde."

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and brothers, William and Tom.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley. The family would like to thank the "care" staff at Riverpointe and Hospice.

A gathering of friends for Arde will be one hour prior to the funeral service.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 11:00 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
