Bresciani doesn't expect new Bison AD to be named until at least late August

FARGO – North Dakota State president Dean Bresciani doesn’t expect the school to name a new athletic director until at least the end of August.

“We’re continuing on a very aggressive schedule,” Bresciani said Tuesday. “I think some of the best candidates may surface later in the process.”

Outgoing athletic director Gene Taylor is set to leave NDSU at the end of the month for a job at the University of Iowa. Taylor was the NDSU athletic director for 13 years.

Bresciani said he expects the field to be narrowed to a “short list” by the middle of August. Finalists should be identified by the end of August with the naming of a new AD soon after, Bresciani said.

“This is one of the plum jobs in the nation,” Bresciani said.
