Davis' grand slam helps Baltimore top Twins
Davis and Adam Jones each scored twice for the Orioles, who have won four of their last five games. The victory allowed Baltimore to increase its lead in the American League East to 7 ½ games over the New York Yankees.
Miguel Gonzalez (7-7) allowed one run and four hits and struck out six in seven innings. Twins starter Trevor May (0-4) struck out eight in 4 X\c innings but gave up eight runs and six hits.
May tossed three scoreless innings before allowing a single and hitting two batters to load the bases in the fourth. J.J. Hardy walked to force in a run and Davis followed with his blast over the right-field fence to make it 5-0.
Jones singled in a run in the fifth and Young smacked a two-run homer to left later in the inning. Jonathan Schoop’s RBI double in the sixth made it 9-0 before Trevor Plouffe got Minnesota on the board with a homer in the seventh.
