Deputies leave rural Otter Tail home where man barricaded himself

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, MINN. — Authorities who set up a perimeter around a rural home here Friday night have cleared the scene, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from the sheriff’s office blocked roadways near the home on Long Lake Road after reports that a man had locked himself in the garage with guns. They left after determining he hadn’t made any threats or committed any crimes.

A woman first called the sheriff’s office around 9 p.m. Friday. She said her husband, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, had locked himself in the garage.

She and the rest of her family left the house for the night, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies left the scene and took no further action.
