Fargo Catholic diocese to discontinue seminary program at Cardinal Muench Seminary
FARGO - The Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo will close at the end of the 2010-2011 academic year, Samuel Aquila, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, announced in a news release today.
Aquila cited the high cost of educating students at the seminary, saying each student must be subsidized at $100,000 annually.
The diocese also announced that it will review all "of the seminary properties and all Fargo, West Fargo, Horace and Kindred parish and Catholic school properties."
