Fargo man injured in high-speed crash on I-94 bridge

FARGO – A Fargo man was injured when he lost control of his car and struck a median barrier on Interstate 94 near the Red River Bridge on Saturday.

Salkan Hidanovic, 25, was transported to Essentia Health in Fargo with unknown injuries, Sgt. Tom Herzig of the North Dakota Highway Patrol said in a news release.

At about 1 p.m. Saturday, Hidanovic was driving a 2003 Nissan 350 Z east on I-94 at a high rate of speed with a group of cars when he quickly changed lanes and lost control of his car, Herzig said.

Hidanovic struck a barrier in the median, causing his car to rotate 180 degrees and come to rest on the left lane closest to the median, Herzig said.

The crash caused about $13,000 in damages to the right front of the Nissan.

Herzig said it wasn’t clear if Hidanovic was racing the other cars. He said that will be determined once an investigation of the crash is complete.
