#FMgram: Fargo boutique owner creates visual journal
Fargo ND 101 5th Street North 58102

FARGO – Teresa O’Day, owner of Proper & Prim clothing boutique in Fargo, wanted an iPhone just so she could get the Instagram app.

“I really like keeping up with friends and bloggers and different media outlets,” she said. “It’s just a fun, visual way to keep up with everything.”

Someone also suggested it would be a good way to promote her store.

“It’s our best social media,” said the 29-year-old Fargo woman. “It gets the most action out of all of them by far.”

She posts new clothing arrivals and outfit suggestions on her store page, @properandprim. Sometimes customers will share photos of their outfits from the boutique.

“It’s a fun way to keep connected with customers and see how they’re wearing the items and their take on our inventory,” she said.

O’Day also has a personal Instagram account, @t.oday, where she posts pictures from her daily life, things like photos of her cat, Curry, or snapshots of her travels. She said it’s kind of like a visual journal.

“I like to take a little snapshot and post it in Instagram to keep up to date on friends and to look back on what I’ve been up to the past few months,” she said.
