Former Bison standout Dolezal finishes second in men's javelin at USA Outdoor Championships
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Former North Dakota State track star Riley Dolezal finished in second place in the men's javelin Sunday at the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
Dolezal's best throw was 260 feet, 1 inch. Dolezal, a current Bison volunteer track assistant, had the top effort through four of six throws. Sean Furey won the event with a toss of 266-1 on his fifth throw.
Dolezal won the USA championship in 2013 with a throw of 273-11. Sunday's effort was the No. 2 performance of his career.
