Grace Bennett, born Grace Arlene Anderson to Gilbert and Anna Anderson in Hitterdal, Minnesota, on September 21, 1928, died June 6, 2014, surrounded by her family.
Grace was married to Bernard Charles Bennett on June 5th 1948 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. They had two daughters, Diane and Julie. Bernie preceded Grace in death on September 12, 1971. Grace later found companionship in Maury Thompson, whom she spent her life with until Maurys passing on June 13, 2007. After Maurys passing, Grace moved to Casselton where she lived the rest of her life with Stewart and Julie and enjoyed her days visiting with them and her grandchildren and great grandchildren daily.
Grace worked at Royal Jewelers in Fargo for a time, she then moved with her family to Bismarck in 1961. She was a stay-at-home mother for several years and then worked part time at Lund Jewelers in Bismarck. Bernie opened Professional Beauty Supply in Bismarck and Grace was his business partner and bookkeeper until Bernies passing, then the business was sold. Grace then entered the real estate business working for Bergquist Walker Realty, Logan Hill Realty, and Aldan Realty. She received many awards during her years in real estate including Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors Presidential Award and the Omega Tau Rho award.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Diane (Greg) Larson of Bismarck, Julie (Stewart) Myhre of Casselton, Granddaughters Jo (Tripp) Vroman of Colorado, Becky (Nat Paul) Strutz of Bismarck, Andrea (Tony) Hunter of Casselton, and Grandson Chris (Bethany) Myhre of Fargo, five great granddaughters, Kaylynn, Lexi, Ella, Bayleigh, and Gabrielle, and three great grandsons Alex, James, and Cambden. Graces niece, Sue (Charlie) Frank, who lived for a short time with Grace and Bernie was also like a daughter to her. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Service: Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, Casselton, ND.
