Burgum releases budget plan to legislative leaders calling for more cuts than Dalrymple

Grand Forks-based Altru Health System names new president

GRAND FORKS - Dr. Eric Lunn will be the next president of Altru Health System, the Grand Forks-based group said Tuesday.

The chief medical executive will succeed current President Casey Ryan, who held the role for 17 years. Lunn's first day will be Jan. 1.

"I'm humbled and honored," he said.

The hope was to find someone who has the technical skills to do the job but also adapt well to the culture, according to Kris Compton, Altru chairwoman.

The health system limited the candidate pool to internal candidates because it was confident it had a strong selection, she said.

Lunn said Altru employees owe much to Ryan's leadership and expertise.

"We have a vision to deliver world-class care," he said. "With 4,100 employees, we're well on our way to working toward a world-class organization."
