Hawley baseball season comes to an end in walk-off loss
ST.CLOUD, Minn. - Hawley's baseball season came to an end Friday, as the Nuggets fell to Aitkin 5-4 in the Minnesota Class 2A consolation semifinals at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, Minn.
Logan Quade's sacrifice fly scored Nathan Davies with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to lift Aitkin (23-5) over Hawley. The Nuggets trailed 4-3 heading into their final at-bat before Jordan Harms' one-out double scored Chad Clute to keep the Nuggets alive.
Hawley (18-8) had six errors in the game and it eventually bit the Nuggets in the seventh when Jacob Hyytinen reached on an error with one out. Davis pinch ran for Hyytinen, stole second and moved to third on an Ehnstrom single. After a walk to Drew Nordean, Quade ended the game.
