Sanford Health honors four in Fargo region
This year’s recipients are:
- Clinical employee of the year, Michele J. Stroh, occupational therapy, Sanford South University;
- Support Services Employee of the Year, Hillery Mork, Children’s Miracle Network program director, Sanford Health Foundation;
- Management Employee of the Year, Douglas W. Krantz, director of clinic operations, Sanford Neuroscience Clinic; and
- Physician of the Year, Dr. Patrick Welle, pediatrics, Sanford Children’s Southwest Clinic.
Three elected to suicide prevention chapter
The North Dakota Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Fargo, has elected three new members to its board of directors. Those elected to a three-year term are Deborah Anderson, Valley City; Dr. Julie Blehm, Fargo; and Scott Normandin, Fargo.
Anderson is a nationally certified licensed professional counselor and certified marriage and family therapist, and is the director of social and behavioral health services at Mercy Hospital, Valley City.
Blehm is a physician at Sanford Health specializing in geriatric and internal medicine. Normandin is an officer with the Fargo Police Department.
Spitfire Bar & Grill wins Sam’s Club tournament
The competition barbecue team from the Spitfire Bar & Grill, West Fargo, was named the reserve champion at an event in Des Moines, Iowa, on July 26 as part of the Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour.
Spitfire now moves on to compete at a regional event today in Madison, Wis., as part of the nationwide tournament.
Record Keepers secures state services contract
Record Keepers has again been awarded the contract for the state of North Dakota secure document and media destruction services.
Record Keepers has held the contract for the past five years and the contract was up for re-bid.
Services provided under the contract include document shredding, nonpaper media destruction and computer hard drive destruction.
Record Keepers provides records storage and shredding services at plants in Fargo and Bismarck.
30 years with law firm
An open house to honor Peggy Buchholz of the Ohnstad Twichell law firm, West Fargo, on her 30th anniversary of employment with the company, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 14 at the law firm at 901 13th Ave. E. Coffee and cookies will be served.
Buchholz attended the North Dakota State College of Science and Minnesota State University Moorhead, where she enrolled in the paralegal program.
She worked for a time at Melroe/Bobcat, Gwinner, N.D., and at an accounting firm before she joined Ohnstad Twichell in 1984 where she has worked as an administrative assistant and paralegal and is currently the office manager.
TCU appoints Richard, reappoints Knutson
Paul F. Richard, president of Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, has been appointed as a new citizen member of the Tri-College University board of directors and Debra Knutson has been reappointed to the board. Both will serve three-year terms.
Richard has served as a quality review nurse, chief legal officer and senior administrator for Sanford Health for the past 43 years and assumed the role of president at Sanford Fargo in 2013. He is licensed as an attorney in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota, and is a member of the State Bar Associations of North Dakota (past president), South Dakota and Minnesota.
Knutson retired after 21 years teaching art with the Moorhead Independent School District. She has also taught art education courses as an adjunct instructor at Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College. She is a member of the Art Educators of Minnesota and the National Art Education Association.
