The Prairie Roots Food Co-op has met its first membership milestone with 675 members signed up as of Tuesday.

Taniya Nayak, host of HGTV’s “House Hunters on Vacation” and the Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible,” will share room design tips. Nayak will share center stage Sept. 18 with Julie Powell, who wrote “Julie & Julia.” The book was later made into a movie.
Gently used business attire will be collected for Dress for Success at a Ladies Night celebration Sept. 17. The conference also features free personal makeovers by Layered salon.
Reliable Vacuum store enters national contest The Reliable Vacuum Store, West Fargo, has qualified as a national contender in the $25,000 Wells Fargo Works Project for small business.
The business, owned by John McTighe, recycles and repurposes vacuum cleaners. McTighe said the $25,000 prize would help to further invest in recycling equipment and to start up other vacuum recycling locations in the area.
Midcontinent delivers Netflix through TiVo Midcontinent Communications customers can now find and watch TV shows and movies from Netflix through the same TiVo set-top box used to watch live TV. The Netflix app will be fully integrated into the TiVo service distributed by Midcontinent.
Midcontinent customers who also subscribe to Netflix will be able to access Netflix content directly on their TiVo boxes without having to change TV inputs or devices. A unified search feature lets users find and watch content across live TV, On Demand shows and other channels, including Netflix.
The Chamber a finalist in national competition The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce was named a finalist for the American Chamber of Commerce Executives 2014 Chamber of the Year competition.
The Chamber is competing in Category 3 along with chambers from Asheville, N.C., Bowling Green, Ky., and Greater Waco, Texas. Winners will be announced in August at the ACCE convention in Cincinnati.
Also, the ChamberChoice Awards program received an award of excellence in the ACCE Awards for Communication Excellence in the campaigns category. The Chamber’s Voices of Vision event was also recognized by the Mid-American Chamber Executives as a finalist for event of the year.
