Letter: Where did birds go for the holiday?
I wonder where all the birds go on the Fourth of July. Our neighborhood generally has a healthy winged population, but they were not to be seen or heard last Friday evening.
You would think that they might demonstrate a bit more patriotic spirit. But, then, what do birds know? They have small brains, after all. Perhaps they perceive the Fourth of July as a time when some people are busy being loud, obnoxious and inconsiderate. Bird brains cannot be expected to attribute this behavior to a deep love of country.
Still, I’d like to know where they hang out on this particular holiday. Come next July, I may decide to join them.
