Man arrested in prostitution case

BISMARCK - As part of a prostitution investigation, federal authorities took a man with residences in California and North Dakota into custody Monday.

Loc Bao Tran, 32, is facing eight federal charges involving prostitution, racketeering and extortion.

Details about the allegations were not available on the federal court records website, however a 2013 case against Tran alleged that Tran and another person ran a business called “The Mann’s Club” that provided sex to customers in exchange for money.

In that prior case, it was alleged that Tran had fled prosecution by traveling to Vietnam.

Tran is being held at the Burleigh County Detention Center while he awaits a hearing in U.S. District Court.
