Mapleton man in custody after bar disturbance, alleged knife incident with deputies

MAPLETON, N.D. – A Mapleton man is in custody this morning after allegedly threatening Cass County sheriff’s deputies with a knife after a disturbance at a bar and grill here late Thursday night.

Capt. Mitch Burris of the Cass County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were dispatched to Hagge’s Bar and Grill at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday for a disturbance report of an unwanted man.

The man, identified as Alfonso Quiroz, 42, was removed from the bar by an employee, Burris said.

When deputies found Quiroz at his home in Mapleton, he threatened them with a knife and had to be Tasered in order for them to subdue him and take him into custody, according to Burris.

Quiroz is being held at the Cass County jail on suspicion of terrorizing, plus on three warrants for criminal trespass, theft and a probation violation for forgery and counterfeiting.
