Mosquito spraying set tonight for F-M area

Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead will run truck-mounted machines to spray for mosquitoes starting about 7:45 tonight, Cass County Vector Control announced.

The spraying is being targeted to prevent the potential spread of West Nile Virus, Vector Control said in a news release.

Spraying will depend on conditions (winds less than 10 mph and temperatures at least 58 degrees). It should be completed by about midnight.

If conditions are not right, the spraying may be rescheduled.

The spray has very little toxicity to people, pets, birds and other animals, but it is very toxic to mosquitoes, Vector Control said.

Moorhead residents with questions, or who wish to have the spray machine turned off as it passes their home, are asked to call 299-5422 and leave a detailed message.
