NDSU junior DT Schaetz injured

FARGO – North Dakota State junior defensive tackle Brian Schaetz will be sidelined six to eight weeks after breaking his foot in summer workouts. Head coach Chris Klieman expects him to be ready for the season opener Aug. 30 at Iowa State.

Schaetz had a plate inserted in his foot, an injury Klieman knows something about.

“I had the exact same injury in college,” he said. “I told him I know you can come back from it. I know he feels better about it after surgery.”

Klieman anticipates being careful with Schaetz in the beginning of fall camp. He said a worst-case scenario would be for Schaetz to be out until
