Power outages cut AC in Fargo, Bismarck
BISMARCK – Parts of Bismarck and Fargo lost electricity Sunday evening, shutting down air conditioners as temperatures outside clung to the lower 90s.
The National Weather Service reported 92 degrees at the Bismarck Airport around the time the power loss occurred there at about 7:10 p.m.
Montana-Dakota Utilities posted on Twitter that a fuse went out on a transformer, cutting power to most customers south of the Bismarck Expressway.
Power was expected to be restored in Bismarck by 9 p.m., MDU said.
Electricity was back on in at least one Bismarck neighborhood by 8:30 p.m.
In Fargo, about 383 Xcel Energy customers in north Fargo were affected by an outage Sunday evening when a fuse was tripped, a company spokesman said.
The precise duration of the outage wasn’t available, but the company indicated all customers had power restored by 9 p.m.
