Sheyenne High School hires three new varsity coaches
WEST FARGO – West Fargo Sheyenne High School activities director Ross Richards announced Friday the hiring of three coaches in the school’s athletic department.
Tyler Carlson has accepted the school’s boys track and field coaching position. In the fall, Carlson was named Sheyenne’s boys cross country coach.
Patricia Arnold will become Sheyenne’s girls track and field coach after previously coaching at Boylan High School (Rockford, Ill.) and Fargo Shanley High School in 2013.
Chad Anderson, a longtime boys and girls tennis coach at West Fargo High School, has been named Sheyenne’s girls tennis coach. Anderson will continue to coach West Fargo’s boys tennis team this fall, which is a co-op of WFHS and Sheyenne.
This fall marks the first season of varsity sports being played at Sheyenne High School. The 2014-15 school year also marks Sheyenne’s first year as an official member of the Eastern Dakota Conference.
Sheyenne is continuing its phase-in process over the next two years, one grade level at a time, which will culminate with the school becoming a 9-12 high school in 2015-16.
