Speaker Boehner to attend Kevin Cramer fundraiser
BISMARCK – U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer says House Speaker John Boehner will attend a fundraiser for Cramer’s campaign Friday in Lincoln, N.D., just southeast of Bismarck.
Cramer, R-N.D., said the event will be Friday evening at the South 40, a barn-turned-events center at the residence of former North Dakota Republican Party chairman Gary Emineth.
Boehner, R-Ohio, is making the stop during a motorcoach tour across several states, Cramer said.
Cramer said several hundred invitations have been sent.
“First of all, he’s a great draw for fundraising, and we hope to raise a lot of money while he’s here. And secondly, I consider him a friend,” he said.
Cramer leads his Democratic opponent, state Sen. George Sinner of Fargo, in fundraising, with net contributions of about $961,000 to Sinner’s $384,000 in the 2014 election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission figures.
Cramer ended the last quarter with about $653,000 in cash on hand, compared with roughly $274,000 for Sinner. However, Sinner outraised Cramer in the quarter, bringing in nearly $350,000 to Cramer’s $236,000 from April 1 to June 30.
