Pipeline talks reach impasse, Laney says officers being portrayed as 'jack-booted thugs'

St. Cloud Chutes top Omaha PI Midwest at Division I Central Plains tounament

FARGO – The St. Cloud Chutes defeated Omaha PI Midwest 10-1 during the opening round of the American Legion Division I Central Plains Regional baseball tournament Thursday at Jack Williams Stadium.

St. Cloud (25-4) plated a run in the third inning when Jeff Fasching scored Thomas Imholte on an RBI single.

The Chutes left nine runners on base in the first six innings, but were able to break through in the seventh inning scoring three runs. St. Cloud connected for four hits in the inning.

Steven Neutzling scored Brian Minks on a sacrifice fly and three batters later St. Cloud right fielder Tommy Auger provided at two-run single with two outs that scored Fasching and Jack Schramel.

St. Cloud added six runs in the eighth inning.

With the victory, St. Cloud advances to the 8 p.m. winner’s bracket game.
