Style Profile: Photographer favors easy, bohemian-inspired fashion
FARGO - A sprinkling of jewelry, bold lipstick and a bright smile are Madison Bartz’s best accessories.
I spotted Bartz downtown and liked her casual style paired with orange-red lipstick.
Describe your style. There aren’t certain words that describe it. I wear whatever’s comfy and in my budget, but I am specific about what I like.
What are you wearing today? Tank from Old Navy, wide-leg pants from Urban Outfitters, a thrifted belt and bracelets, rings from my mom, a Tiffany promise ring from my boyfriend and an Ax+Apple necklace.
Who’re your style icons? My mom because she dresses so well but it’s not trendy. I mostly take inspiration from my friends and people I follow on Instagram and Pinterest.
Where do you shop? Proper & Prim and Target locally, but I shop online at H&M, Urban Outfitters and Nasty Gal.
I also love Fargo Rocks, the local rock shop, for jewelry.
What inspires your style? Travel. I feel like Fargo still has that small-town, conservative style sometimes, and once you go to bigger cities, you see a greater diversity in personal style.
What’s your fashion philosophy? If I like it, I’m going to wear it. But it has to fit well too so it’s flattering.
If I’m not happy in my outfit, it’s not a good day.
What’s always in your handbag? Lipstick! I love MAC Cosmetics. I also always have my planner and some sort of camera. Right now I have a disposable camera.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve worn? A thrifted A-line red velvet dress with an off-the-shoulder neckline.
I bought it for $2.
