Two killed in motorcycle crash in Minot

MINOT, N.D. - A man and a woman were killed early Thursday after a motorcycle they were riding struck a tree in Minot.

Minot Police report witnesses saw the driver of the motorcycle traveling northbound, about 12:40 a.m., on 16 Street NW toward Golden Valley Lane at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle left the roadway and hit a tree, ejecting the man, 21, of Minnesota and the woman, also 21, of Granville, N.D. Both died at the scene, police said.

The victims were not wearing helmets, police said. Their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
