Washington man suspected of drunken driving in stolen vehicle
BISMARCK – A Washington state man is under arrest after North Dakota state troopers found him allegedly driving a stolen car drunk on Interstate 94 near Steele, N.D.
North Dakota State Patrol Sgt. Steven Fischer said officers from the state patrol and from the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Office responded sometime after 8:00 p.m. Monday to a report of a silver 2005 Lexus being driven erratically westbound on I-94 near Steele.
The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Oak Park Heights, Minn., area, Fischer said.
Officers pulled the vehicle over on the off ramp east of Menoken and took the four people inside into custody.
The driver, Ross P. Hanson, Vancouver, Wash., was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving under suspension and theft.
Sundance Blue and Gage Blue of Granite Falls, Minn., and John Kirk of Peever, S.D., were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The case remains under investigation, Fischer said.
