Weekend Watch: BLOCH party
Decorating a tree is something we usually think about more in December than August. The festivities will be a bit different this Sunday at the Hjemkomst Center, 202 1st Ave. N., Moorhead, for the BLOCH party. The center of the event is the 5,700-pound, 17-foot-long tree trunk from Switzerland that two European artists are sending around the world to have contemporary and folk artists leave their mark, creating a multicultural dialogue. North Dakota and Moorhead are the only American stops for this spruced up spruce. Sunday’s event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., features a number of different visual art activities and music by Poitin, Ma’di and Heather and Thistle as well as story time with the Moorhead Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.
