Weekend Watch: Demolition derby

Demolition derby

Saturday

Those old junkers and newer clunkers just might win some local drivers a chunk of cash when the Red River Valley Fair Association hosts a demolition derby at 4 p.m. Saturday. Drivers will compete for bragging rights and money in three categories – old iron, 1980s and newer, and compact. Gates will open at 3 p.m. that day at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, 1805 W. Main Ave., West Fargo. Advanced tickets are $10 for those 13 and older, $5 for kids 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and younger, and are available at all area Petro Serve USA stores. Tickets also will be available the day of the show at the grandstand ticket office beginning at 3 p.m. for $15 for those 13 and older and $7 for kids 6 to 12. For car and driver registration details and rules, contact Dan Aderman at (763) 222-9773 or Shane Kluth at (701) 793-8467. www.redrivervalleyfair.com
