West Fargo man injured in motorcycle-deer crash
A West Fargo man was injured Friday morning when the motorcycle he was driving struck a deer crossing the highway, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
James Hapala, 68, was driving eastbound on Highway 46 about a mile east of Enderlin, N.D., when he struck a deer and lost control of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the vehicle, according to the release.
Hapala was life-flighted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with unspecified injuries.
The Highway Patrol, Ransom County Sheriff’s Department, Sheldon Fire Department and Lisbon Ambulance responded to the scene.
